A Quick way to Close a Program on the Taskbar-Tip of the Day
Friday, December 17, 2004
Do you have programs on the taskbar that need to be closed? The taskbar is the blue bar at the bottom of your screen. When you minimize programs, their name appears there and they're STILL OPEN. All these programs should be closed BEFORE you shut down your computer. (You may also want to shut them down at other times for various reasons.)
Put your mouse pointer on the name of the program (on the taskbar) you want to close.
Right click (click on your right mouse button). A contextual menu appears. That's that box of choices that pops up when you right click.
Left click on Close, the choice with the "X" beside it.
That's it! You've closed your program without having to maximize it first. Nice shortcut, eh?
