Here's
how to create a new folder to help you organize
your files:
Step 1:
Creating the Folder:
To
create a new folder on the Desktop,
right click on the Desktop, scroll down to
New in the menu that pops up, and click on
Folder.
To create a new folder
inside another folder, such as in the My
Documents folder, open the folder, click
on File at the top, scroll down to New,
and click on Folder.
If you have
Windows XP, making a new folder
inside another folder is even easier. Open My Documents
or another folder you'd like create a folder
inside of. On the left side of the box, under "File
and Folder Tasks" is a link that says "Make
a New Folder." Simply click on the link.
Step 2: Naming the Folder:
After
the first step, you should end up with a new folder
that says "New Folder," highlighted
in blue and surrounded by a black box. Now don't click! And let go of your
mouse. Trust me on this one.
Type
the name of the folder (what you would like
to call it). The text you type will immediately replace the "New
Folder" text.
Hit the Enter
key on your keyboard to make your new folder official so it won't disappear
on you. That's it! You're done. Feel free to start placing files in your new
folder!
