How to Put a Shortcut on your Desktop -Tip of the Day
Thursday, December 15, 2004
Click on Start.
Click on Programs or All Programs.
Find the program you want to make a shortcut of.
Right Click (click on your right mouse button) one time on the name of the program.
A little menu in a box should pop up. This is called a contextual menu.
Scroll down in the box to where it says Send To. No need to click here. Just rest your mouse pointer there for a second.
A list of options should pop up to the side. Move your mouse STRAIGHT across the Send To choice, into the list, and either up or down to where it says "Desktop (create shortcut)". Left Click on that choice.
Now click somewhere on your desktop, anywhere as long as it's outside all these boxes we've opened up. The boxes should close.
Look for your new shortcut on your desktop!
